ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Snappers (9-10-1) lost to the Winter Garden Squeeze (11-10) on Friday night, 4-2.
Geoff D'Amato had a solid outing, allowing one earned run in three innings of work. Multiple errors behind him prevented him from pitching deeper into the game. D'Amato continued to showcase an arsenal that should earn him an all-star selection and make a college very happy next spring.
Alex Arciniegas made his Snappers debut, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings and freezing two Squeeze hitters for strikeouts.
Cole Goodnoe relieved him, followed by Angel Mendoza, making it three Seminole State pitchers on the mound for Orlando.
Allowing three runs through eight innings should have given the Snappers a chance, but only two players crossed the plate in a stagnant offensive effort.
Orlando will continue to look for answers Saturday night at Horizon Park against the same Winter Garden Squeeze squad. The Snappers will look to even the season series at three games apiece and move back to .500. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
