Let's Get Set for a Friday Night Spectacular in O-City
Leesburg, Fl. - The Orlando Snappers dropped the second game of this best 2 out of 3 semifinal series against the Leesburg Lightning, 4-2.
The Lightning got ahead early, capitalizing on a 2-run homerun down the right field line to take a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third, they got some insurance on a defensive miscue by the Snappers and took a 3-0 lead.
The Snappers responded themselves in the next half inning.
Mario Trivella (FIU) beat out an infield single with 2 outs to score Blake Fields (Houston) who had a 1-out double earlier in the inning.
With the Lightning making it a 4-1 contest in the sixth inning, Orlando was down by 3 heading into the last inning.
They were able to salvage a run thanks to a Hayden Gustavson (LA Tech) RBI single but their comeback fell short as the Lightning tied the series up at 1, forcing a decisive game 3.
First pitch is set for 7:00pm from The First Academy in Orlando, Fl. on Friday, July 25.
The winner of that game will advance to the Championship round facing the Sanford River Rats beginning Saturday evening.
